Colocation for Rotterdam.
Tier 3 rack space 25 minutes from the city.
We have no data centre in Rotterdam. Our racks sit in the Greenhouse Tier 3 data centres in Naaldwijk, approx. 25 minutes via the A20 and A4 — with AMS-IX on-site and N+2 redundancy.
Rotterdam has data centres — the question is what comes with the rack.
Rotterdam has real data centre floor space: NorthC at Zestienhoven, SmartDC, the Spaanse Kubus. If you specifically want a rack within the city limits, that is where to look. We deliberately deliver from Naaldwijk, 25 minutes away — and we say so openly, because part of the 'Rotterdam' market quietly delivers from further afield than that.
Our reasoning is simple: Naaldwijk is where our own network sits, with AMS-IX on site — since October 2021 the first AMS-IX PoP outside the Amsterdam metro — and Tier 3 with N+2 redundancy. On top of that we provide the layer a bare rack does not include: remote hands included, management if you want it, and a single point of contact that knows your environment. The difference is not the address, but what your provider delivers.
Built for port, logistics and SME workloads.
A good fit for Rotterdam businesses that:
- Work in and around the port, with OT on site and IT that no longer belongs beside it
- Are SMEs outgrowing the office server cabinet — air conditioning, UPS and risk included
- Need a fallback or second location: outside their own building, but within driving distance
- Run traffic-heavy applications and want billing that forgives peaks
Frequently asked questions about colocation near Rotterdam
How far is Naaldwijk from Rotterdam?
Approx. 25 minutes via the A20 and A4. You have 24/7 access; registering a visit takes five minutes and photo ID is mandatory.
Why not simply a data centre in Rotterdam itself?
That works fine — NorthC Zestienhoven, SmartDC and the Spaanse Kubus are proper city locations. We deliver where our network and engineers are: Greenhouse Naaldwijk, with Tier 3, N+2 and AMS-IX on site, and our services on top. At a 25-minute drive that makes little practical difference for most organisations — and remote hands is included, so you rarely need to be there.
Will I notice those kilometres in latency?
No. Latency follows the network route, not the road distance. Our network peers at AMS-IX on the same campus, so traffic to Rotterdam offices and providers stays short. In practice you will not notice a difference from a rack in the city.
Can I bring my own IP space?
Yes. We advertise owned or leased RIPE space via BGP from a /24 (IPv4) or /48 (IPv6), with valid holdership and a ROA. Otherwise we supply dual-stack addresses from our own block.
How does the move out of our own server room work?
As a project: we map dependencies, set the boot order and test the network before a single server goes into the van. The environment runs stably for a working day before the old room is cleared. Remote hands are included from then on.
